let there be sight!


Welcome back! This week, as mentioned in the last blog, is all about the sight and hearing of the AI. I have shown a few videos below of the examples of all of this.


Below is the example of the sight of the AI. The AI is set in patrol mode and if the player is within distance, the AI will then follow the player and start to attack. I have also shown a little view of the navigation invoker which allows the AI to traverse around the map.

Below is the hearing of the AI. If the player is running behind the AI and, is within a certain distance, the AI will hear the player and will then follow and attack. However, to counteract this, if the player is crouching behind the AI, the AI will not hear the player and will carry on with its patrol.

This week was pretty good, I managed to get the AI to function as intended so I'm in a pretty good position right now! Next week I plan to add some villages and more patrol points for the AIs as well as adding more AI in general to fill up the game's world. Thanks for tuning in this week!
