Some Cool Visuals!

Welcome back! This week was pretty slow since the work load is now dropping as I enter the final stages of the development of Till Kingdom Come. This week I wanted to improve on the visual side of things by improving the HUD.

As you can see, I have got the standard Health and Stamina bar and the addition of a Level and XP bar (the levels and XP will be implemented in the future). On the bottom left is the indicators for the health and stamina potions, it displays the amount and the corresponding button that needs to be pressed in order to use the item.

Although it is not seen in the image below, there are also UI updates too. If the player was to walk over a stamina or health potion whilst holding the maximum amount, there will be a prompt saying that there is a maximum amount of that potion. As well as this, there is also the quests, once a quest item has been picked up, a prompt, just above the box appears stating that the quest log has been updated. These are minimal changes for the game but very necessary ones as the HUD is one of the main aspects of many video games.

That is all for this week, as I said, it was a pretty slow week but a necessary one! Next week will be doing all of the menus and the checkpoints for the game which will be a great deal of fun. Thank you all for reading this week, I hope to see you all next week!
