Lock-On!
Welcome back! This week I implemented a lock-on mechanic. This mechanic can only be activated if the player has their sword out and if they are within a certain distance of an enemy. The player must use the right mouse click and the camera will focus onto the AI.
This mechanic is especially good for the player as it provides quality of life. The player will no longer have to try and aim with the mouse and instead, they can use the lock-on feature to help aid them in mid-combat. To let the player know which AI they are locked-on to, there is a small display on the floor of the AI, as seen in the video, a white circle appears which acts as the indicator.
This week was pretty enjoyable for me, I loved working on the lock-on system. Next week I plan to implement a compass. Thanks for tuning in!
